TIENS Enthusiasm in Public Welfare Charity Highlighted by Media
The stories about public welfare and charitable activities of TIENS Group, total donation of which amounted to RMB 400 million, attracted the attention of media. Li Jinyuan, the Board Chairman and President of TIENS Group, was interviewed by over 10 media during the First Corporate Citizenship and Public Welfare Forum held at the Great Hall of the People on September 26.
This Forum was organized by China Charity Federation and co-organized by TIENS Group, and its focus was on the issues of corporate citizenship and public welfare services. The concept of “corporate citizenship” is an emerging concept in the world, referring to a company who combines basic social value with their daily business practice and operation as well as their relationship with the government. It reflects the enterprise’s consciousness of being a citizen and the social sense of responsibility. At present, this concept in China is still at a preliminary stage, and then the intention of this Forum is to strengthen the citizenship consciousness of domestic enterprises, and to deepen their social responsibility and patriotic sentiment.
In the morning session, president Li made a passionate impromptu speech. According to his speech, TIENS Group had adopted the philosophy of “Contributing to society by restoring health to mankind” from its inception and has been enthusiastically engaging in public welfare and charitable activities. Totally, TIENS had often donated cash and kind amounted to RMB 400 million. From now on, TIENS Group would continue participating in public welfare and charitable activities, and take up social responsibilities daringly to assist the government and contribute to people’s health and the strengthening of our country.
President Li’s speech aroused the widespread interest of media such as CCTV, BTV, Economics Daily, Guangming Daily, China Enterprise News. They interviewed President Li one after another. When the reporters inquired in detail the original intention of TIENS Group to participate in public welfare and charitable activities, as well as its operational mechanism and contribution, President Li gladly answered them all.
In the afternoon session, the enterprise representatives headed by president Li held a round table conference with Mr. Fan Baojun, President China Charity Federation and Mr. Liu Fang, some economists and Phoenix TV Announcer to discuss in details the situation of Chinese enterprises’ participation in public welfare and charitable activities.
