On the evening of December 14, 2005, Mr. Ma Shengrong, Vice President and Associate Executive Editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency and his secretary paid a visit to Tiens Group.

Mr. Yang, Vice President of the Group, met with them personally. Afterwards, Mr. Li Jinyuan, President of the Group and Mr. Ma had a friendly meeting lasting about an hour, in which both sides exchanged opinions on the development and status of direct selling at home and abroad. Mr. Li made a detailed introduction on the status and future development strategies of the Group with an emphasis on its internationalization to Mr. Ma. He continued by saying that TIENS had entered into mainstream society in 190-odd countries. With full access to markets of these countries, TIENS has enjoyed a steady consumer group totaling 10 million across the world. The globalization of Tiens Group evoked great interest from Mr. Ma, who complimented that TIENS was the cultural emissary of the people. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Li personally presented a gift to Mr. Ma.

After that, accompanied by Mr. Li, Mr. Ma was introduced to the exhibition hall of the Tiens Group. Mr. Ma sincerely praised TIENS’ achievements over the past decade.

Finally, Mr. Li treated Mr. Ma to a banquet, for which the Vice President expressed sincere gratitude.

The award ceremony of “World Eminent Chinese Medal” jointly organized by World Chinese Entrepreneurs Association and Takung Pao in Hong Kong was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on December 8, 2005. This grand event was attended by many domestic enterprises, the press, and over one hundred other distinguished guests.

It was the first time that domestic entrepreneurs were among the winners of “World Eminent Chinese Medal.” At the ceremony, the medals were awarded to President Li Jinyuan of Tiens Group, Mr. Jiang Chaoliang, Board Chairman of Shanghai Bank of Communications, Mr. Niu Gensheng, Board Chairman of Meng Niu Dairy, Mr. Wu Xiangdong, President of Jinliufu Group, Mr. Feng Jun, President of IQ Technology Inc. and Mr. Zhang Yi, Board Chairman of Liaoning Province Dalian Ocean Fishery Group of Corporations.

Mr. Yu Shunbiao, Chairman of Chinese Entrepreneurs Association and Mr. Hu Houfa, Associate Editor-in-chief of Takung Pao (H.K.) and Mr. Zhu Tao, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, warmly addressed all and spoke very highly of the contribution made by these entrepreneurs to society as well as encouraging them to shoulder more social responsibilities.

World Chinese Entrepreneurs Association has two global platforms, one is the world Outstanding Chinese annuals in which various ranking lists on Chinese and Chinese businessmen all over the world are publicized (this also reports the development of Chinese people); another is the World Star Entrepreneur Medal and World Eminent Chinese medal which are awarded to outstanding Chinese worldwide. On the National Day Reception held in September, 2005 for Chinese entrepreneurs across the world, the association awarded the world start entrepreneur medal and World Eminent Chinese Medal to outstanding Chinese overseas. They were issued again for the contribution to corporate -culture exchange between China and US, France, Holland, Norway, and Italy. The medals were awarded to outstanding entrepreneurs who had made important contributions to the growth of China’s economy and the progress of social civilization.

Tiens Group was invited to the award ceremony of 2005 China Inland Ranking of Creating Wealth.

On the evening of December 6, 2005, the award ceremony of Mainland China Ranking List of Wealth organized by Southern Weekly was held at Renaissance TEDA Hotel in Tianjin. Present at this ceremony were Mr. Sun Fuling, Vice Chairman of CPPCC, Mr. Sun Xiaohua, Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, and officials from ministries and committees including the Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission, the People’s Bank of China, and the leaders from Tianjin People’s Congress, Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference, Administrative Committee of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area. More than 60 media from China and abroad also attended this ceremony.

Tiens Group was ranked the seventh on the Wealth Creation ranking while its public image ranking was the fourth and donation ranking was the eighth. Respective leaders of the group were invited to attend and receive award at the ceremony.

Mainland China Ranking of Wealth Creation, inaugurated by Southern Weekly, is a new ranking with brand-new selection standards, which is designed to appraise Chinese entrepreneurs from private enterprises in an attempt to assess all round the wealth created by those private entrepreneurs since the policy of reform and opening up was implemented. This year was the second year running of this ranking. In order to distinguish it from many current listings under various names, Southern Weekly has introduced brand-new appraisal standards, which requires the Ranking List of Wealth to capture more than wealth itself, but takes into consideration the factor of generosity and personal concept of value, in line with Chinese traditional virtues and current needs for China to build a harmonious society, as well as international enterprise culture of assuming social responsibility.
