Dr. Noel Brown, President of the Friends of the United Nations (FOTUN), accompanied by his wife and entourage visited Tiens Group on January 15, 2007. President Noel Brown received a number of honors for having devoted himself to the cause of environmental sustainable development and the survival of mankind and the earth. To acknowledge his service to environmental causes, Dr. Noel Brown was honored with the Lions Club Award, the Friends of the United Nations Award, the Gaia Award, and the Global Education Associates Award for Distinguished Service in the Care of the Earth. Additionally he was awarded the Distinguished Public Service Award by the World Academy of Arts and Science in 1998, and the Lifetime Achievement Award of Service to the Earth in 2005.

At 2 p.m., President Li Jinyuan and several senior executives met with President Brown and his entourage at the VIP Room on the 2nd floor of the President’s Building.

At the meeting, President Li Jinyuan recalled TIENS’ progress of development and the outcome of its globalization strategy, and introduced its future development strategy of entering into the Global Top 500. President Brown and attendees were impressed by President Li’s courage and insight, and TIENS’ globe spanning strategy and achievements. After summarizing the outstanding achievements that resulted from the global strategic Six-Network Interaction, New Swap and Alternative Theory and New Supermarket Theory, President Li emphasized that Tiens Group is serious about its responsibility and mission to contribute to building a “harmonious international community”, to the keen interest of the guests.

President Brown said that the Friends of the United Nations, founded in 1985, is the largest nonprofit, non-governmental organization authorized by the United Nations. FOTUN has devoted itself to working with worldwide communities, driving the United Nations’ mission, mobilizing support for the United Nations and increasing the awareness of the United Nations’ achievements in the areas of peace, human rights, environment, children and economic development.

President Brown pointed out that the charitable deeds of President Li and TIENS to the world were in line with the concept of World Harmony that the Friends of the United Nations has always advocated. He sincerely wished to work with socially responsible enterprises such as TIENS, and suggested both can “Work together, Share together and Win together”. President Brown had also cordially invited President Li to the first UN “Harmonious Voice” 2007 Spring Festival Party to be held at the UN General Assembly Hall on February 22 (the fifth day of Chinese New Year), and to the 7th World Harmony Summit to be held in Vienna from June 26 to 29. President Li was happy to share his network resources with the Friends of the United Nations, to help promote the harmony and stability of the international community by “being the wind beneath the UN’s wings”. This concept of selflessness was highly commended by Mr. Brown.

After the meeting, President Li Jinyuan took photos with President Brown and his entourage, presenting them with a Golden Lion signifying the rising and soaring of TIENS. Mr. Brown happily visited the TIENS Exhibition Hall, and admired TIENS astonishing development after watching TIENS Today promotion video.  Before he left, Mr. Brown sincerely wished TIENS further development and more glorious days ahead, and hoped that he would discuss the way of world harmony with President Li Jinyuan when he revisits China in the future.

On the morning of January 8, 2007, “the Prize of Outstanding Contributions to China Charities & the 2nd Appraisal of Chinese Figures ” was announced at the Great Hall of the People. Mr. Li Jinyuan, President of TIENS Group, was awarded the “Outstanding Contributions to China Charities ” and the “China Charity Figures “.

This activity was initiated by China Charity Federation (CCF), organized and carried out by the Organizing Committee of the Prize of Outstanding Contributions to China Charities. This prize primarily means to praise the institutions, organizations, individuals and various charity programs that had made great contribution to China charities since 2002, especially after 2005 China Charity Conference. All the candidates were recommended and reported by the institution member and appraised by the CCF. The individual prize winners will be also awarded as “China Charity Figures “.

While “the Prize of Outstanding Contributions to China Charities & the 2nd Appraisal of Chinese Figures ” was officially launched on September 2, 2006, 799 candidates were recommended by CCF institution members, among which there were 473 individuals, 233 institutions and 93 programs. All the recommendation documents were notified on Charity Weekly of CPPCC, www.sina.com, www.cppcc.com. Based on collecting voices from all social strata, verifying the statistics on the submitted documents and considering on several appraisal meetings, 233 individuals, 116 institutions and 58 programs were awarded at the end.

On the awarding ceremony, the representative of all prize winners delivered the “Love Declaration “, calling for more compassionate individuals and organizations to devote themselves into the charity. Therefore, the progress of the modern socialist charity can carry forward the Chinese traditional virtues. In this way, the aged can be fed up, the young educated, the disabled cared, the poor aided, the disaster-stricken saved, the unprivileged assisted and thus the whole society are dedicated to supporting the charity.

The tri-leaf pattern, like an unfolded world map, is a reflection of TIENS’ strategy of “internationalized” development. Therein, leaves represent the product image featuring “naturalness and health”; the yellow color of the design symbolizes “sunshine” and “wealth” and the green color gives off natural breath of “green earth”.

Three man-shaped patterns, interconnected with each other hand in hand, run across the leaf-shaped pattern in a natural, smooth and extending manner, displaying the concept that TIENS is human-oriented and global TIENS citizens are closely connected.

The whole pattern implies the growing trend of TIENS brand.

The new design is developed on the basis of original color and meanwhile inherits the core asset of TIENS brand, namely, “TIENS”. The whole symbol gives a full representation to the brand’s core — “One world•One family”, the core values characterized with “Extraordinary Innovation”, “Paramount Responsibility” and “Excellent Teamwork” as well as the long-term brand strategy with “Together We Share” as its slogan. With the new design as its new starting point, TIENS will embark on a new journey in building an international brand.
