Outstanding Contributions to China Charities Award

On the morning of January 8, 2007, “the Prize of Outstanding Contributions to China Charities & the 2nd Appraisal of Chinese Figures ” was announced at the Great Hall of the People. Mr. Li Jinyuan, President of TIENS Group, was awarded the “Outstanding Contributions to China Charities ” and the “China Charity Figures “.

This activity was initiated by China Charity Federation (CCF), organized and carried out by the Organizing Committee of the Prize of Outstanding Contributions to China Charities. This prize primarily means to praise the institutions, organizations, individuals and various charity programs that had made great contribution to China charities since 2002, especially after 2005 China Charity Conference. All the candidates were recommended and reported by the institution member and appraised by the CCF. The individual prize winners will be also awarded as “China Charity Figures “.

While “the Prize of Outstanding Contributions to China Charities & the 2nd Appraisal of Chinese Figures ” was officially launched on September 2, 2006, 799 candidates were recommended by CCF institution members, among which there were 473 individuals, 233 institutions and 93 programs. All the recommendation documents were notified on Charity Weekly of CPPCC, www.sina.com, www.cppcc.com. Based on collecting voices from all social strata, verifying the statistics on the submitted documents and considering on several appraisal meetings, 233 individuals, 116 institutions and 58 programs were awarded at the end.

On the awarding ceremony, the representative of all prize winners delivered the “Love Declaration “, calling for more compassionate individuals and organizations to devote themselves into the charity. Therefore, the progress of the modern socialist charity can carry forward the Chinese traditional virtues. In this way, the aged can be fed up, the young educated, the disabled cared, the poor aided, the disaster-stricken saved, the unprivileged assisted and thus the whole society are dedicated to supporting the charity.
