Tiens Obtained Halal Certificate from LP. POM-MUI, Indonesia
On March 8, 2007, Tiens Group formally obtained the Halal Certificate from LP. POM-MUI, Indonesia (Institute for Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics). This exciting news cheered the employees of TIENS and boosted their morale. During the on-site verification for obtaining the Halal Certificate, experts from Indonesia gave positive comments on the dedication and professionalism of TIENS employees, and praised the hardware equipment and quality management of the manufacturing units, R&D department, and test center. This accreditation is yet another positive presentation of Tiens Group to the world.
The LP.POM-MUI is a special institute established by law under the agreement passed by the Indonesian Allah Committee on Jan. 6, 1989. The institute assists and supports the Allah Committee in formulating and enacting policies, laws,and regulations related to food, drugs and cosmetics. The institute provides advice and guidance so as to ensure that the food, drugs and cosmetics offered to Muslim consumers are Halal. The Halal Certificate is recognized in most Muslim countries in the world.
