President of UNESCO-APNIEVE Visit Tiens
On June 14, 2007, Mr. Zhou Nanzhao, President of the UNESCO-APNIEVE (Asia-Pacific Network for International Education and Values Education) paid a special visit to the Tiens Group and Tianshi College. Mr. Li Jinyuan, President of Tiens Group, gave a warm welcome to President Zhou Nanzhao and his entourage and held a productive meeting.
Presidents Li Jinyuan first introduced the challenges of establishing and growing Tiens Group and Tianshi College. He also discussed the construction progress of the 800-Mu TIENS Health Industrial Park and the 3000-Mu land expropriation for the TIENS International University. During the meeting, President Li Jinyuan stressed that the Tiens Group is working hard towards its goal of becoming one of the world’s top 500 enterprises. The Tiens Group is confident of its ability to achieve this goal in the near future. President Zhou Nanzhao commended President Li Jinyuan’s introduction, and expressed admiration for his setup of Tianshi College.
President Zhou Nanzhao introduced the background of the UNESCO-APNIEVE and its several projects in China. He proposed that the “International Vocational Education Forum” in September be held at TIENS. President Li Jinyuan readily agreed to the proposal and instructed Tianshi College to help implement the forum. President Zhou Nanzhao continued to introduce the latest trends in international vocational education. At present, successful vocational education systems include the German Dualistic Education System, the Australian TAFE system and the American community college education system. President Zhou would like to find international partners for Tianshi College through the UNESCO-APNIEVE so as to accelerate the development of Tianshi College and establish its own unique system. The proposal was supported by President Li Jinyuan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Zhou Nanzhao and his entourage were given a tour of Tianshi College and the 800-Mu TIENS Health Industrial Park currently under construction. President Zhou expressed that he was deeply impressed by what he saw and heard at TIENS.
